- Featured in Creative Review's book Browser 3.0 in 2002: the first site of Stef's to be published in print.
White Noise Central was a very early blog, from a little before the word was in use: two friends, Jim Woodward and Matthew Bradfield, travelling across America in search of music and writing up what they found as they went. Antonio Gould and I designed and built the site for them around 2000 and 2001, with our own journal engine so they could post text and photos from internet cafés on the road, and a Flash tuner for picking through the entries. Tone built the databases and the admin; I did the design.
It had a retro, pixellated look, and it was the first site of mine to be published in print, in Creative Review's Browser 3.0 in 2002. It is long gone.
