Over the Christmas break we had some success at Type when a track from one of our artists was used in the latest Honda advert.
The guys at Channel 4’s new 4Talent site thought this would be a good idea for a feature looking at whether going for music licenses like this might constitute “selling out” or sacrificing artistic integrity.
I think the days are gone when a record label is able to operate just on record sales alone - labels are now becoming cultural reference points and have to look at other sources of income to continue producing independent music.
