Experimenting with Ruby application stacks

I first got into Ruby when I was doing web projects in Rails. Back then there was a very defined set of things that would go into a Rails application. Things changed, and I moved away from Rails, mainly through the influence of Mike Stenhouse and David MacIver towards a better understanding of Ruby, towards Sinatra and using just the bits that I need for the thing that I'm building rather than including the kitchen sink. Today Aframe is built on a Ruby stack, and all of the projects I hack on in my (increasingly vanishing) spare time include Ruby in the mix somewhere.
