Screened - a map visualisation of UK film screening data
I've spent the weekend and a few evenings making a spare time app using the BFI's data on UK film screenings. They're in the process of opening up a data-set of some 5.4 million film screenings that happen each year, geolocated and with data about the films - genres, venue, and so on. It's an interesting data set, so for a first hit I have made a simple app that visualises where and when films were screened during 2010. I've written a longer blog post about the thinking and process behind the app over at Aframe.
