Creative Republic was a representative and lobbying organisation for the creative and cultural industries in the West Midlands, set up in 2006 by a handful of people who felt the sector needed one. Stef was one of its founding board members. Its strapline: “versatility never goes out of fashion — tell me & I'll forget, show me and I'll remember, involve me & I'll understand”.
In his own words: “It was our aim to ensure that the region put significant political and economic resources behind supporting the growth of the sector. We arranged events, networking, collaborations with business leaders, fed into the development of new City Council and Regional Development Agency projects, developed an award-winning blog for the city, and influenced policy at a ministerial level.”
By 2013 the creativerepublic.co.uk domain carried a design bureau based in Plymouth, Devon, offering web, graphic and exhibition design, branding and hosting.
