Blog Action Day in Birmingham

Blog Action Day is happening for the second time this year, and is an attempt to bring together bloggers from around the world to discuss a shared issue.

This year’s theme is Poverty.

What’s happening in Birmingham?

We have a pretty established blogging scene in the city now, so a few of us have grouped together to do something for the day, which is something of an extension of what Pete Ashton does every week at the Custard Factory. It’s called:

Birmingham Social Media Surgery

And there are opportunities for non profit organisations to meet up with bloggers, designers and web professionals to talk about how to use social media effectively.

I’ll be there offering something very simple. For one non profit organisation that works with kids I am offering to build a blog-based website from scratch in half a day. As a benchmark of what you can achieve in that time, have a look at JanLewandowski.co.uk

It’s happening at BVSC Volunteer Center in Digbeth, Birmimgham, from 5.30 to 7.30pm

Do you know anyone who might benefit from this? Let them know…
