A bunch of 4IP ideas

Last year 4IP hit the West Midlands web scene and asked for our ideas for public service digital content and services.

One evening Andrew Dubber and I got together over Google Video and bashed out some ideas for what we could do.

I then wrote the best of them up, combined them with a bunch of the ideas I already had, and hey presto - a clutch of cool ideas in 1000 words each.

But I only submitted a few of them based on feedback that it looked a little bit crazy to throw so many ideas at them, and since then all but Help Me Investigate has been turned down or put ‘on hold’, which is probably code for ‘we like it but hang on a bit’.

So in the mean time, here are the ideas that didn’t make it - either I didn’t hit submit or after running them past a few people they didn’t think would work.

I’m putting them out there because I want others to be able to see what a pitch might look like (not saying mine are particularly great or anything), and also because I think these ideas are good - they just need other people to take them on.

They are licenced under Creative Commons Attribution licence (if you use them please credit me). And if you like one of these ideas and want to chat about it, let me know.

And hey, I’ve had a ton more since - these are just the ones that I’ve written up, and it would be a shame to have them on my hard disk doing nothing.

Each idea is coming in a separate post, and I’ll link them here once they are online.

If you’ve got the seed of an idea that needs developing, let me know - I’m available for consultancy and what I call rapid idea improvement.
