For Culture Hack East. Inspired by the work of artists, such as Blast Theory, who work with stories and location, this was a tool that could enable artists to create their own locative artworks. It wasn’t all based on geolocation, just simple text-based instructions and a series of “steps” that made up a “tale”.
A player would start off at a location and then follow these steps, which consisted of some text, an embed of some content (youtube, soundcloud, etc.) and through following the steps, and moving from location to location, experience a story of the artist’s creation.
The idea being that by making it easier for artists to create this kind of work (basically for almost nothing), we could see some interesting locative art happening.
