Europeana Foundation

Europeana gathers the digitised collections of thousands of European museums, galleries, libraries and archives and works to make them findable and usable. In its own words at the time: “We transform the world with culture! We want to build on Europe's rich heritage and make it easier for people to use, whether for work, for learning or just for fun.”

Europeana is owned by the Europeana Foundation, a Dutch foundation, and the Governing Board is its board. It seats members appointed by the founding members, by the Europeana Network Association, by European associations of content holders, and — for two years at a time — people appointed for a field of expertise the Europeana strategy needs.
